THREE local charities – North East Hearts with Goals, Heel and Toe Children’s Charity and the Alzheimer’s Society – received an enormous Christmas surprise from Primula Cheese just in time for Christmas.

Jane Long from Heel & Toe Charity is given the good news by Managing Director at Primula Cheese – Paul Lewney.

Development Executive – Jane Long was under the impression she was visiting the staff at Primula Cheese, Team Valley to explain why support was needed for Heel & Toe Children’s Charity, who have plans for a Hydrotherapy Pool at their newly purchased building in Perkinsville.

Amazing Surprise for Heel & Toe

Little did she know that the company had already been fundraising throughout the year and Jane was presented with a cheque for £25,000 to go towards the cost of the specialised pool which is due to be developed in 2017.

Jane Long from Heel and Toe Children’s Charity said: “I was so shocked by the donation today. Our new building will be ready from August and the new hydrotherapy pool is going to be a huge part of this. We are unique to the region so this donation really is going to change lives. Thank you to everyone at Primula.”

Thank You Kavli Trust

The money for all charitable donations came from The Kavli Trust, the charitable trust which owns Primula Cheese and which donates profits from sales of Primula and other Kavli products to good causes throughout the UK and abroad, supporting research, humanitarian and cultural projects which improve people’s lives.

The new building will incorporate a therapy room for Re-bound Therapy, an upstairs furnished flat for parents to use while their children are treated for blocks of therapy, Hydrotherapy pool with accessible changing area and a charity shop. The total cost of the building refurbishment is in the region of £270,000 which the charity needs to raise to ensure the building work can go ahead.
