Jack Thompson is 8 years old and has a rare form of brain cancer which has led to him losing most of his sight.

This year Jack decided that he didn’t want a birthday party, instead he chose to hold a raffle in his favourite branch of Barclays at The Galleries, Washington, to raise money for the children at Heel & Toe Charity who receive free therapy to help with a range of disabilities, mainly cerebral palsy . Jack raised over £600 and to show our appreciation we organised a very special surprise for Jack at our centre based in Pelton.

Watch Jack’s reaction to his special surprise below.

This incredible boy showed us the act of selflessness in a way we will always remember and we are so very grateful for his support. When Jack was told about Heel & Toe Charity not being government funded he knew he wanted to help and support the children that attended the charity for therapy. With the help and support from people like Jack and his family, Heel & Toe can continue to provide free therapy to children with cerebral palsy and other physical disabilities across the North East Region.
