On Saturday 19th the Newton Aycliffe Rotary Club held their annual Model Railway Exhibition at The Youth Centre, Burn Lane, Newton Aycliffe. The event was a huge success and displayed various models railways alongside suppliers of parts and accessories for model train enthusiasts.
It was a delight for us to be the nominated charity to receive funds raised from the event, as last year the total amount raised was £2000.
Huge thanks to Rotarian – John Burrows for organising the event, to all the exhibitors who came along. Also thank you to Mayor of Great Aycliffe Town Council, Cllr Mary Dalton, and District Governor of Rotary North East,Terry Long for their support and to everyone who attended the event.
Saturday Night’s Music Fundraiser
At 7pm that Saturday night, Ryton Social Club was packed out as the Heel & Toe Charity Fundraising Music Night took place hosted by Metro Radio’s top DJ – Brian Moore.
We were delighted to have ‘Happy Feet‘ Dance Group from Gateshead perform at the beginning of the night, both groups did a fantastic routine and made us feel very proud.
Entertainment continued as vocalist, Â Jane Long – (Heel & Toe Charity Development Executive) performed some rock and pop classics to get guests dancing.
Huge thanks to Electric Nite Entertainment who supplied fantastic sound & visuals throughout the night and followed with a disco at the end of the evening.
Well done to everyone involved including all volunteers and fundraising committee. The night managed to raise a fantastic £3,400.
See you all again next year!
