The staff of Lloyds TSB Bank, Durham Market Place pairedĀ up with Firefighters from County Durham and Darlington Fire & Rescue Services to take part in a charity cycle in the branch.
With the help of an exercise bike on loan from Result Fitness, Gary Bankhead – Watch Manager and Green Watch Firefighters stepped forward to join the staff inĀ cyclingĀ 838 miles, the distance from John OāGroats to Landās End to raise vital funds for the charity.
The event took place over 5 daysĀ and manager Nick Dobson saw the team across the finishing line, covering the final 40km solo.
With donations from customers the teamĀ raised a total of Ā£1,381.60Ā which will go towards providing free therapy to children with cerebral palsy and other physical disabilities from their centre based in Pelton, Chester-le-Street, County Durham.
Organiser Lesley Feechan, a mortgage adviser at Lloyds TSB Bank, said: āItās been fantastic.Ā The support from customers has been fantastic and itās brought all the staff together.Ā Itās been an amazing experience. I canāt believe weāve done it.ā
