An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced speech and language therapist to join our multidisciplinary team at Heel and Toe Children’s Charity.

We are a small, supportive team of Conductors, Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist, therapy assistants, and Physiotherapists. We provide therapy to children from birth to 19years with neurodevelopmental disorders who have a range of complex speech, language and communication needs. We have fully resourced therapy rooms, a sensory room as well as a hydrotherapy pool. The successful candidate will conduct initial assessments and provide high quality, personalised therapy sessions for our children and parents, participate in regular MDT meetings, liaise with school staff where appropriate and work closely with AHP colleagues. We have a hands-on approach, where the child’s needs are at the heart of our treatment, meaning many children receive regular therapy for as long as it is benefiting them. Our holistic approach focuses on the family, working with both parents and children to help each child fulfil their potential.

Experience of working with children with additional needs and with complex speech, language and communication needs is essential. A knowledge of AAC including Makaton and PECS is needed alongside a solid understanding of pre-verbal and early language development and autism spectrum disorders.

This is a permanent position, with both part and full time contracts considered. Other benefits include charity events, regular team building events, access to a cycle to work scheme, and flexible working to enhance work/ life balance.

We prioritise the right candidate, so this position is full or part time, depending on the right candidate’s availability.
