Our children prove to us every day that there are no limits to what they can achieve, regardless of their physical disabilities or learning difficulties.

With this in mind we are delighted to bring back the Children’s Disability Triathlon at David Lloyd Leisure on Sunday 3rd July 2016.

Children of all abilities can enter into the Swim, Bike and Run event which will raise much needed funds and awareness for Heel & Toe Children’s Charity based in Durham.

The event is jointly organised by Sports Coach and GB AG Triathlete – Jo Shallcross and Tracey Sample – Head Coach at Alnwick Tri Club and Triathlon England North East Region’s Children’s Coach of the Year 2015.

This great opportunity gives children with physical disabilities and learning difficulties the chance to achieve goals set by themselves whilst promoting healthy living and independance.

Distances for the event are;

Swim – 25m, 50m, 100m

Bike – 1km, 2km, 4km

Run – 200m, 500m, 1km

The cut off age for the Triathlon is 15 years old. Entry Fee is £20 per child. There is also the opportunity to enter a sibling or support for your child.

*NB – Children can use floats, armbands and goggles for swimming. Trikes, adapted bikes or their own cycles for cycling. Kaye walkers, crutches/sticks and leg braces for the run.
