Wesley’s Story
Wesley was born 9 weeks early via C section and weighed 1.98kg. It was 2 minutes before he took his first breathe and required CPAP, intubation, curasurf, and antibiotics to name but a few.
At 1 month old Wesley was taken into foster care before being adopted by his lovely mummy, who, following lots of assessments and professional input, was told that Wesley had quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy, Periventricular Leukomalacia, a chromosome duplication and a visual impairment.
Wesley is a very chatty young man who is wheelchair dependent as well as relying on a standing frame, splints, a nimbo walker, and a swash brace. He is an active little boy enjoying swimming, gardening, baking, musical toys and role play. He has sensitive hearing causing him to really dislike loud noises such as hand dryers, fans, coffee machines, motorbikes, etc.
