Siena’s Story
Siena was born 10 weeks early and weighed in at only 3lb 10. She required an incubator and ventilation, oxygen and respirator from birth as well as tube feeding. At a meagre 23 hours old she underwent surgery for a burst lung, and since has also had open heart surgery for a hole in the heart. She didn’t get to go home until she was 34 weeks old, and was over a year old when her parents were given her diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy. Siena requires a wheelchair and walker, and at school she has a special chair.
Siena is a sociable little girl who enjoys play areas and making new friends as well as creative art, imaginary play, dancing and the cinema. Understandably she gets frustrated when she is unable to join in more with her friends.
