On Sunday 14th September 20 youngsters took part in a Children’s Disability Triathlon held at David Lloyd Leisure in Gosforth.
This event was the first Children’s Disability Triathlon to be held in the North East region and the children were lucky enough to have the expert advice and coaching from Paralympian Gold Medalist Swimmer – Josef Craig.
The children chose to take part in a Swim 25m, 50m or 100m, Bike 1km, 2km or 4km and Run 200m, 500m or 1km to raise funds which will pay for the additional therapy they will be receiving at Heel & Toe Charity, Pelton.
The charity is looking to work together with school’s and various children’s groups next year to make the Triathlon a much bigger event. Huge thank you goes to David Lloyd Leisure, Robin Palmer PR, The Barn Fitness, Triathlon England, Josef Craig and everyone who volunteered, donated and took part in the event.
If you would like to discuss becoming involved with the Triathlon in 2015 please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 0191 3868606 and speak to Alan or Jane.
The Triathlon was in partnership with Triathlon England, Reason To – Charity Event Management and The Barn – Sports & Recreation.
