Our Hydrotherapy Pool is in desperate need of funding and we urgently need your support.

Heel & Toe is reaching out to the community for support in securing funding for the maintenance and operation of their crucial Hydrotherapy pool throughout 2025. The charity needs to raise £60,000 in 2025 to secure the future of its Hydrotherapy Pool based in Perkinsville, County Durham. The charity has recently been forced to make staff redundancies to try and recover lost costs. This has a detrimental effect on children’s therapy, leading to children having to be placed on waiting lists for therapy.

Hydrotherapy plays a vital role in supporting children with a variety of medical conditions. From acquired and traumatic brain injury to neurodevelopmental and everything in between, hydrotherapy has proven to be a game-changer in improving the well-being of these children.

Hydrotherapy, also known as aquatic therapy, involves exercises performed in water to help children improve their physical strength, balance, coordination, and overall functionality. This form of therapy has shown remarkable results in children with conditions such as Cerebral Palsy, Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR), developmental disorders, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Juvenile Arthritis, and more.

The scarcity of hydrotherapy pools in the North East region, particularly with the closure of leisure centres and council pools, highlights the critical need to maintain access to facilities like the one at Heel & Toe. According to recent statistics, children who undergo hydrotherapy at Heel & Toe experience significant improvements in their mobility, motor skills, independence, and overall quality of life. The warm water provides a soothing and supportive environment for these children to engage in therapy, leading to exceptional outcomes that are simply not achievable through traditional forms of treatment alone.

Please donate today and be part of something truly life-changing. Together we can create a world where every child can thrive. Thank you for your support.
